Girne TRNC set to transform in a municipality project termed "Colour and Life"

Girne’s old harbour area is to blossom with colourful flowers in a municipal initiative due to be launched on Tuesday.

Specially selected flowers are being sought to plant alongside roads and walls in the area under a project entitled “Hand in Hand We Give Colour and Life To Girne”.

Notices were displayed around the town last week inviting local residents to suggest appropriate flowers for the display and to give their opinions about the scheme.

Girne Mayor Nidai Güngördü said that planting and maintaining flowers in the Old Harbour area would improve tourism there while creating a better environment for its residents, adding: “The support of our people is very important for us. We would like them to help us maintain and protect the flowers we will be planting so that we are hand in-hand for a better Girne.”
