"NEU-RA 25" has returned to Cyprus after exhibition in Cape Town, South Africa.

After being exhibited at FutureTech 2014 conference held in Cape Town, the God of Sun – NEU-RA 25 returned to island.

Organized by Popular Mechanics, which is an international brand in the field of technology, the FutureTech conference 2014 was held at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa auditorium in Newlands, Cape Town.

According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of NEU (Near East University Nicosia Cyprus), the God of Sun – NUE-RA 25 returned to the island after being exhibited at the FutureTech 2014 conference.

İ. Günsel: The massive interest shown in RA 25 is very gratifying on behalf of TRNC…

Touching upon the importance of the massive success of RA 25 in attracting great interest at the FutureTech international conference held in Cape Town, NEU Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel delivered further information about the event. “Looking to the future, in a wide-ranging overview of the design process, we have designed and produced our solar powered car RA 25 in an innovative manner. Due to its distinguished design features over other solar cars that participated in Sasol Solar Challenge2014, Popular Mechanics’ officials offered the Near East University to exhibit NEU-RA 25 at Future Tech 2014 conference. The FutureTech 2014 provided penetrating insights into the innovative ways in which our world is being shaped. Similarly, NEU-Ra 25 has shed a light on NEU’s vision regarding the technology of tomorrow. Our presence in this international event is an extremely significant headway for the promotion of our country. Besides, the massive interest shown in our solar powered car is very gratifying on behalf of our country TRNC. Taking place in this exhibition on behalf of TRNC, NEU has crowned its massive success achieved in Sasol Solar Challenge 2014 in South Africa” said he.

Touching upon the significance of the outstanding success achieved by RA 25 at the international solar car race organized biennially and endorsed by the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), NEU Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel reminded that NEU-RA 25 achieved the 1st rank in its category and the 8th rank in the world general classification after covering 2000 km main route at Sasol Solar Challenge that lasted eight days on challenging routes of South Africa. “NEU’s participation in this international event and the overall success achieved in Sasol Solar Challenge international car race have been an extremely important step on behalf of our country’s sports. The God of Sun NEU-RA 25, which waved TRNC’s flag proudly throughout the race in South Africa, will be exhibited at NEU Hospital starting from January 2015 on” said Günsel.
