Rising Star is an international reality television singing competition based on the Israeli singing competition HaKokhav HaBa (meaning "The Next Star") made by Keshet Broadcasting Ltd. The program format lets viewers vote for contestants via mobile apps. The Turkish version has been running for years and EMU Graduate, Chuchu Movain has steadily risen in it's ranks to become a very popular contestant in Turkey

In contrast to other singing competition TV shows which feature a cast of celebrity judges, Rising Star features a cast of celebrity experts and considers the viewers at home the judges. During each performance, the audience at home is able to decide in real time whether or not a contestant is sent through to the next round by using a mobile voting app.

While the viewers at home are considered the "judges", the expert panelists also may influence the vote but with continuously decreasing percentage votes over the total public vote and not exceeding 7% of the total voting power.

Nana Richard Abiona (born 1988), better known by his stage name Fuse ODG, is a British musician of Ghanaian descent. He is best known for his 2013 single "Antenna" which peaked to number 7 on the UK Singles Chart. Born in London and raised in Ghana, Fuse returned to London for his secondary education, where he attended the Archbishop Lanfranc School, Croydon. He grew up in Mitcham, South London.

In 2013, the Azonto heavyweight, Fuse ODG, dropped a new song and video titled “Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)”. It’s a nice tune with a simple video that’s got several stellar guest appearances.

R-Cube is a group of three sisters and Nigeria’s only major girl group as of present. Their music is a beautiful blend of Afro Culture, Pop Sounds and Nigerian beats. Two of the sister’s were finalists on Season 7 of MTN Project Fame West Africa finishing among the top 5.

Within a short time since the group’s creation, they have performed at a number of high profile events such as – Industry Nite alongside Cynthia Morgan, Sean Tizzle, Phyno and Lil Kesh; Freedom Hall’s Women Arise Concert alongside Ruby Gyang, Esther, Oyinkan Braithwaite; and 2014 The Information Communication & Telecommunication Expo. YBNL artiste and fast rising Nigerian Urban Highlife singer Adekunle Gold fuses his unique sounds of highlife-meets-afro-rock-and-pop in his new single titled “ORENTE”. The artiste has immediately followed the release of the single with a video that was shot in the ancient city of Osogbo in Osun State.

The video captures the essence of the ancient city and is shot across different locations of the city with scenes bearing images from notable landmarks of the state such as the Erin Jesha waterfalls, the Nigerian Railway Corporation Osogbo, Osogbo City Stadium, Osogbo market, and the famous Nike Art Gallery and Museum.

The “ORENTE” video was directed by Award winning videographer Mex and shot on location for a duration of two days in what was described by the artiste as an “intense and fulfilling video shoot session”. The theme of the video was retro Yoruba and was depicted in costume, scenery and cultural display.

Adekunle Gold was introduced to the Nigerian music scene with his first single “Sade” which debuted at No. 3 on the iTunes R&B chart, and enjoyed massive airplay across Nigerian media.

The Artiste describes his music as deep and relatable, “I want the world to receive my music as a beautiful piece of who I am as a Nigerian, I am a man who embraces the culture of my heritage, a man of soul, a man with vision and eyes for the finer things of life. My music transcends my person, it is deep, it is enriching and inspiring”.
