NEU kicks off the new academic year 2014-2015 with a rapturous opening

On September 16th, the academic and administrative staff of the Near East Family gathered at the Near East Mansion to celebrate the start of the new academic year 2014-2015.

Due to the start of the new academic year 2014-2015, The Near East University Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel hosted a reception.

According to the statement issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of NEU (Near East University Nicosia Cyprus), the reception, which was realized with great participation of the academic and administrative staff of the Near East Family, took place on Tuesday September 16, hrs 16:30, at the Near East Mansion.

The Near East University Board of Trustees Chairman Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel addressed to the participants through an opening speech. He wished continuous success and voiced that the Near East Family would continue to contribute to our country by achieving once again quality and excellence in education in the new academic year.

“During the academic year 2013-2014, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Near East University by organizing various activities aiming to produce academic and social benefits. However, we have never intended to confine this social and academic intensity in a specific year. On the contrary, we consider these activities as a linchpin in realizing the vision of the new twenty-five years. We have a dream for our island and our world! Through sharing our 25-year-experience, our innovative vision towards future and our educational philosophy, we aim to build a brilliant future for our people that we always get power from. We dream a future where our citizens will be able to compete in peace both in social and economic life with other communities all over the world by overcoming the artificial restrictions and isolation over our people. We, as the Near East Family, are building a future where our people with a rich intellectual potential will realize great inventions and innovations, which can contribute scientific studies, applications and transformations leading to change in the world” he said.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan Günsel emphasized that the Near East University with its outstanding academic and administrative staff would continue to contribute to the future of the country and the world by producing highly qualified and vision holder graduates through quality education at world standards.
