UPDATE2: Once again Temperatures set to drop this week in TRNC [Snowing in Lefkosa] VIDEO!

Temperatures on the Island are expected to fall because of a cold weather front from Siberia. The Met Office said that the effects of a cold weather front from Siberia will be felt between the 16th and 22nd February.

Wednesday and Thursday in particular will see temperatures of around 8 degrees C.

Temperatures are expected to start dropping from Wednesday by two or three degrees,  and take a further dive on Thursday by around six degrees, the met office said.

On Thursday temperatures are expected to be 6C to 7C inland, some ten degrees lower than normal for this time of year.

According to the met office, from late on Wednesday rain, storms, and unpredictable weather conditions are expected in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas, with some snow even at lower altitudes.

Temperatures are expected to rise marginally on Friday. Accordingly all motorists and drivers are advised to be cautious while travelling to the moutains because of snow conditions.

UPDATE3: the light showers which lasted less than 30mins has given way to heavy rainfall in Lefkosa TRNC. However the coastal town of Famagusta is yet to see even a drop of snow but the temperature has fallen by more than 10 degrees in the last couple of hours.
