One of the most significant accreditation associations in Germany, Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) announced its accordance of an accreditation to the International Cyprus University (CIU) Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Department of Business Administration, valid until the academic year 2020.

With this accreditation, FIBAA has officially credited CIU Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences affiliated Department of Business Administration for offering quality education at par with internationally recognized norms. This result constitutes a solid reference for students enrolled at, and graduates of CIU Department of Business Administration, as well as other stakeholders, i.e. state and employers, concerning employment and international undertakings.

FIBAA officials visiting CIU underlined the success of CIU at satisfying the internationally recognized standards. Director of Accreditation Process for FIBAA, Karin Legerlotz said, “Panel members and I were highly impressed with the transparent and well-thought responses, as well as pro-active feedback offered by CIU during the evaluation process. We are happy to see such a university among us”.

What is FIBAA?
Established in 1994 along with the Bologna Process, FIBAA Accreditation system is the first to be recognized by the German Accreditation Council. FIBAA has been undertaking official activities of accreditation since 2002.

Universities that apply for FIBAA accreditation provide an auto-evaluation report, prepared in the context of control and audit of their undergraduate and graduate degree programs, in line with pre-determined international standards for quality assurance. The report is evaluated by an independent audit council; and a decision is reached based on the result of the evaluation process.

International Success of CIU Continues to be Officially Credited
CIU Faculty of Engineering affiliated Department of Computer Engineering was accredited in recent years by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Engineering Programs (MÜDEK) through a document of International Education Parity. The Department had also been issued the European Accredited Engineer Label (EUR-ACE), again by MÜDEK.

MÜDEK aims at contributing to the rise of quality in engineering education by undertaking accreditation, evaluation, and informative activities concerning education programs within various branches of engineering, hence facilitating training of engineers equipped with better education and higher qualifications, who better master contemporary technology that is developing daily.

Prior to the MÜDEK accreditation, CIU Department of Engineering had been credited by one of the most significant accreditation bodies in Turkey, the Architectural Accreditation Board (MİAK), for the level of educational quality attained by the Department. The undergraduate engineering degree program offered by the CIU Department of Engineering is the holder of the MİAK accreditation spanning the longest period of validity in Northern Cyprus.

CIU continues undertaking international accreditation works at a highly active pace in an effort to get credited for the education that it provides at internationally accepted standards of quality, and to equip its students with distinctive advantages in the face of global competition that will challenge them upon graduation.
