NANS Members visited the Mayor of Kyrenia, Nidai Güngördü in preparation for Independence Day

NANS Delegates consisting of Comrade Acheme Oklobia Odeh, Comrade Ifeoma Onuike, Comrade Toure Osigbemhe headed by Comrade Temile Emmanuel visited the Mayor of Kyrenia today to officially pre-discuss plans concerning hosting the Independence Celebration and to inform him about NANS Turkish Zone.

The visit which was spearheaded by NANS-Turkish Zone was in effect a courtesy call on the Mayor of Kyrenia/Girne to intimate him on activities lined up by the Nigerian Association in preparation for the Independence Day celebration coming up on October 1st, and also ask for his blessings and support.

The NANS members that visited the Mayor were Comrade Acheme Oklobia Odeh, Comrade Ifeoma Onuike, Comrade Toure Osigbemhe headed by Comrade Temile Emmanuel.

NANS-TR seem to have heeded the criticisms of Nigerians that they needed to up their ante in the discharging of their duties to the Nigerian community in Cyprus and environs. Previously, series of controversies trailed the association since it was formed which resulted in the impeachment of the pioneer Vice President and Financial Secretary, Hopefully all is well with the NANS-TR house now.

Nigerian Independence comes up ever October 1st. The independence which was achieved in 1960 has seen Nigerians all over the world and in TRNC celebrate the day with fanfare and activities geared towards generating nostalgic feelings of the homeland and appreciating Nigeria's journey through the years and the multicultural richness of Nigerians worldwide.
