REPORT: Using mobile phones while driving top driving offences in TRNC


Traffic offence reports show that talking on mobile phones is the most common of motoring crimes in northern Cyprus.

According to police reports, 800 drivers were booked for various offences from December 7-13 last week.

Talking on the phone was the top offence amongst driving offences, with 140 drivers  being booked. Speeding and driving without road tax placed second, with 70 each.

During the same time, a total of €75,000 worth of damage was recorded in traffic accidents.
