Turkish Cypriot (TRNC) scuba diver to attempt to break his last Guiness World Record

Turkish Cypriot scuba diver Cem Karabay, who holds the 2015 Guinness world record for the longest open saltwater scuba dive with 72 hours, will try to break his own record by remaining underwater for 142 hours. He will dive on July 14th until July 20th, which is the 42nd anniversary of the Turkish peacekeeping mission in Cyprus.

Karabay said that he felt honoured when the Guinness World Records website entered his record as TRNC.*

*The longest open saltwater scuba dive is 72 hours and was achieved by Cem Karabay in collaboration with the Prime Ministry of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus & Merit International Hotels (all Turkey), in Girne, in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, from 17 – 20 July 2015.  Guiness World Records
