EMU Tourism Club in İstanbul


Eastern Mediterranean University Tourism Club organised a trip to İstanbul. The trip which had the aim of exploring the cultural values of the city took place under the coordination of EMU School of Tourism and Hospitality academic staff member and Tourism Club advisor Hüseyin Bilsen and Community Involvement Center member and EMU School of Tourism and Hospitality academic staff member Dr. Nazenin Ruso.

35 students from 11 countries, namely Pakistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Palestine, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Ghana and Tajikistan, attended the trip. During the first 2 days of the trip, students visited Sultanahmet Mosque, Süleymaniye Mosque, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Topkapı Palace, Yerebatan Cistern, Kalenderhane Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. On the last day of the trip, the group went up to Galata Tower and enjoyed the magnificent view of İstanbul.

Upon the return of the group to Cyprus, Tourism Club chair Bilal Khan stated that they are planning to organise a cultural trip to İzmir in April 2015.
