UPDATE: EMU Computer Engineering Department ‘Website Design Competition’ [Deadline: 17th March]


Students of Eastern Mediterranean University Engineering Faculty Computer Engineering Department are getting ready for the website design competition for Uçanok Construction Company.

Wishing to renew its existing website, Uçanok Construction Company decided to continue their collaboration with EMU during the 2014-2015 Academic Year. Previously the company collaborated with EMU in concrete strength competition carried out within EMU Civil Engineering Department. During the first informative meeting which took place on 24 December 2014, students received information about the company from Administrative Affairs and Informatics Representative Mihriban Şemi. During the same meeting, students were also informed about the requirements and other details of the new website.

Deadline for applications for the website design competition taking place through the collaboration of EMU Engineering Faculty, Computer Engineering Department Chair Prof. Dr. Işık Aybay, Assistant Department Chair  Assist. Prof. Dr. Yıltan Bitirim, Uçanok Companies Group Director Ahmet Uçanok and Administrative Affairs and Informatics Representative Mihriban Şemi is 17 March 2015. Whilst the winner of the competition will be awarded 1,500 TL, a plaque and a certificate of participation, those who qualify for the 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded a plaque and certificate of participation.

During the informatory meeting which took place within the framework of the aforesaid competition, Mihriban Şemi responded to students’ questions. At the same meeting, Assist. Prof. Dr. Yıltan Bitirim stressed the importance of sectoral collaboration.

Stating his views about the competition, Prof. Dr. Işık Aybay focused the importance of the collaboration between the university and industry.  Prof. Dr. Aybay added that for ongoing internship and employment opportunities, it is necessary to maintain a good relationship with the sector.
