The United Nations Security Council to vote on the renewal of the UN peace keeping force in Cyprus

The United Nations Security Council resolution for the renewal of the mandate of UNFICYP - the UN peace keeping force in Cyprus - will be put to a vote on January 28.

On January 26 the members of the UNSC will be briefed by the UNSG Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide on the latest developments regarding the Cyprus problem.

President of the UNSC Christián Barros Melet told the press that on January 21 he is scheduled to have meetings with representatives from the countries that contribute to UNFICYP.
