The Igbo Community of South Australia (ICSA) will host its first-ever Catholic Holy Mass in the Igbo language on Sunday, 29th June 2025, 4:00 PM, at Emmaus Catholic Parish Hall, Kingswood.

The Igbo Catholic Holy Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Fr. Chisom Ekene Ilechukwu of the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi, and this landmark celebration will mark a major cultural and spiritual milestone for the Igbo diaspora. Organized under the leadership of Igbo Community of South Australia President Mr. Joseph Amaefuna, the event aims to strengthen community ties and preserve the Igbo language and faith traditions.

“The Mass will be a powerful reconnection to our identity,” said Mr. Nnaemeka Umenzeakor, the Public Relations Officer of the Igbo Community of South Australia.

The entire liturgy, including hymns, will be conducted in Igbo, offering an enriching and inclusive experience open to all, regardless of language proficiency.
