UPDATE: 5th Promotion Days in Eastern Mediterranean University [Official Review]

Organised by Eastern Mediterranean University in collaboration with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ministry of Education, “5th EMU Promotion Days” commenced at EMU Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Center on 25 February 2015. On the first day of the event, teachers, counselors and around 700 high school final year students from Polat Paşa High School, Karpaz Vocational High School, Eastern Mediterranean Doğa College, Famagusta High School of Trade, Gazimağusa Vocational High School, İskele Bekir Paşa High School, Geçitkale Cumhuriyet High School, İskele High School of Trade, Dr. Fazıl Küçük Vocational High School, Haspolat Vocational High School, Namık Kemal High School, Gazimağusa Turkish Maarif College and Erenköy High School attended the activities.

Within the framework of the 3-day “5th EMU Promotion Days” organisation,  every day between 9:30 and 12:00, along with academic activities, other entertainment activities as well as competitions will be taking place. While discovering the multicultural campus environment where over 19,000 students from 120 different countries receive education, high school students will also be receiving information on academic units and assistance on their prospective career choices.

Taking place under the sponsorship of North Cyprus Turkcell, Heyday Music and Ektam Ltd., “5th EMU Promotion Days” will be hosting high schools from Nicosia region on 26 February 2015 and high schools from Girne and Güzelyurt regions on 27 February 2015.

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Osam also attended the first day of the “5th EMU Promotion Days” and stated his pleasure on behalf of the university in receiving the attention and interest of the students. Prof. Dr. Osam added that it is not easy to create a multi-cultural environment and, thus, students should not miss this opportunity. Prof. Dr. Osam also put forth that they are proud of their university as it appears among the best universities throughout the world.At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Osam invited all high school students to benefit from the opportunity of receiving high quality education in EMU.

Vice Rector for Promotion Prof. Dr. Hasan Amca stressed that EMU offers study opportunities to around 19.100 students from 120 different countries and added that while catering for international students, EMU also gives special importance to students from our own country. Prof. Dr. Amca put forth that EMU endeavors to bring up professionals who possess qualities and skills at world standards and this includes the nationals of the TRNC, too.

I am glad that I attended EMU’s promotion days as I have all my questions answered now. We also received detailed information on EMU’s education system.
