WEATHER UPDATE!: More Rain and unpredictable weather expected all week in Cyprus!


Tuesday is expected to be rainy throughout the day with isolated storms, and snow in the mountains. Temperatures are around 13'C in the mainland, 14 in the coastal areas and 2 in the mountains, the met service said.

Very strong winds, mainly in the southern and western coast of Cyprus are expected to reach 9 the Beaufort scale by evening the met service said on Tuesday.

From Tuesday and Wednesday until Friday more rain and storms are expected, and snow forecast in mountainous areas.

Temperatures are expected to fall by two to three degrees on Wednesday, rise by two to three degrees on Thursday and take another dive of two to three degrees on Friday, the met office said.

The major roads are open to traffic but are slippery. Due to the unsettled weather, alternating snowfall, rain and hail, police urge drivers to be very careful, drive at low speed and abide by the traffic signs to avoid accidents.

Bad weather is set to continue throughout the week with rain and storms in some areas, strong winds, lower temperatures and snowfall in the mountains, the met office said Monday.

Temperatures on Monday will reach about 15'C inland, 16 in coastal areas and around 6 in the mountains, but local rains and storms are expected. From Monday afternoon on, snowfall is expected in the mountains.

The weather patterns will intensify over the next two days, Mouskos said, with more rain and storms expected. Temperatures will drop by four degrees, while snow is also set to fall on Wednesday in semi-mountain areas.

Strong winds, reaching gusts of seven on the Beaufort scale are also expected, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday, mainly in the coastal areas.

Local rain and storms will continue on Thursday and Friday and temperatures are expected to remain on the same levels.
