EMU Hosted a Conference on Sexual Development, Sexuality Education and Protection from Abuse

Organised by the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Club operating under the Social and Cultural Activities Directorate,  a conference entitled “Sexual Development, Sexuality Education and Protection from Abuse” by Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayten Düzkantar Uysal took place at EMU Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall.

During the conference which attracted a crowded group of students and academic staff members, Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayten Düzkantar Uysal provided information on sexual development and methods of protection from abuse as well as how to provide sex education to individuals with special needs between the ages of 0 and 18 and how to protect them from sexual abuse. With its special focus on individuals with special needs as a risk group, the conference provided information supportive for students’ professional development. At the end of the conference, students of the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Club presented a plaque to Assist. Prof. Dr. Ayten Düzkantar Uysal.
