Maria Eriksson: Bariş Park, A peaceful oasis in Kyrenia [Pictures]

Kyrenia has a nice town park which is frequently visited by families with children, seniors and those who have taken paused from their shopping spree. The park named Bariş Park is next door to Girne’s bus station and the place where the Wednesday market is held. Here you can sit down on a bench and enjoy the sound of the small waterfall cascading down into the duck pond. You can also take a walk and watch the animals in the park which are well taken care of. Peacocks, chickens and ducks walking around, there should also be rabbits but they do not want to show themselves while we are there.

The children keep themselves busy with the playground, trampoline and carousel. There is also a small restaurant in the area which serve traditional Cypriot food at reasonable prices. Bariş Park is a peaceful oasis in the bustling town.
