The Cyprus International University Faculty of Health Sciences held events to mark the annual Nurses Week


Activities lasted the whole day at the CIU Student Union Center and were enjoyed by Faculty of Health Sciences students as well as students from other.

Students of the Faculty measured the blood pressure of students and took height and weight measurements, before determining their body mass index figures. Providing information on topics such as healthy diet, personal and environmental hygiene, sexual health, physical activity-exercise, the students also distributed information brochures. Participants in the activities were also served slices of cake.


Trainee nurses also sang and danced together with other students. Overall, students had a great time during the event.

Participating to the organization of the event, Eyüp Yıldırım, a student with the Nursing Department of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Head of the Health Club, spoke to CIU News Agency. Yıldırım said, “Despite being a new Department, we gained members in a short time and started successfully organizing events. Trainee nurses enrolled with our department performed quite successfully at various stands concerning interesting topics within the domain of health. This event will stay with us as an unforgettable memory”.
