Businessmen form Cyprus Trade Forum [CTF] to help with Cyprob solution
Businessmen from both sides have formed the ‘Cyprus Trade Forum’ in a bid to contribute to the ongoing comprehensive settlement talks .
The TC Businessmen’s Association (ISAD) and their GC collocutors, the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) signed a joint protocol at an event held in Nicosia this week.
The President of the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation Tarkan Kadooğlu was also present at the protocol signing ceremony.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of the Cyprus Employers and Industrialists Federation Chirtos Michaelidis underlined the importance of cooperation between the two organisations.
ISAD president Metin Şadi for his part pointed out that the Cyprus Trade Forum was not a platform guided or directed by an international organisation and that the forum had been created by business people from both communities.
Also speaking President of the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation Tarkan Kadooğlu said that they fully supported the ongoing peace processes in Turkey and Cyprus.
The Cyprus Trade Forum aims at supporting and encouraging business people from both sides of the divide to work together, to organize seminars and conferences and to support any other steps aimed at bringing the two communities closer to each other.
The Forum is made up of a coordination committee and an executive committee which includes representatives from both organisations.
Meanwhile a panel discussion hosted by the Turkish Enterprise and Business Confederation entitled “A solution and Economy in Cyprus” is being held at the Merit Hotel in Nicosia.
