This is not a hoax. It is the real deal. US firm company, Terrafugia has claimed that 'commuters of the very-near future will be granted some respite by taking to the skies in a flying car'

The flying car dubbed TF-X will be operational from 2018 with a fully functioning prototype and commercial sales in few years after that.
