TOO MUCH Hot Weather? Nicosia - TRNC road rage caught on film (VIDEO)

A road rage video uploaded on a local news website was making the rounds on social media earlier this week, that shows two Cypriot drivers coming to blows in a middle-of-the-road punch-up.

The two men are seen rolling in the middle of the road before eventually being pulled apart by a third man and two women, who appeared to have been travelling with them, before returning to their respective vehicles on the outskirts of Nicosia.

There seems to be no indication as to the motive except two frustrated drivers that lost it at the wheel during the summer heat.

The video first appeared on Offsite.

UPDATE: Great white shark ‘spotted off the coast of Famagusta’

There are several media reports claiming that a Great White shark has been spotted off the coast of Famagusta in TRNC.

Going on social media activity and eye witness accounts of fishermen, the shark was said to be over five metres long. One fisherman took to Facebook to say that the shark was so close to his boat that he ‘could practically see the shark’s eyes’.

“My boat is 4.5m long and this shark was much larger than my vessel. From what I have seen on documentaries, this shark resembled a great white but I could be mistaken. I was so frightened that I was unable to take a picture of it.”

The alleged sighting was made previous weekend.

This is not the first time a shark has been sighted in the north although there has never been a definitive sighting of a great white off Cyprus’ waters.

A man who caught a 3.5 metre bluntnose sixgill shark in May, sparked debate on both sides of the island.

Associations spurred into action calling for the end to hunting of the fish as they were in danger of extinction.

The great white shark is mainly known for its size, with mature female individuals growing up to 6.1m in length and 1,950 kg in weight. They can accelerate to over 56 km/h for short bursts and is arguably the world’s largest known extant macropredatory fish, and is one of the primary predators of marine mammals.

BRACE UP CYPRUS: End of Spring and Summer set to be Very Hot and Dry

EU weather officials are predicting dry weather for Cyprus spring ending and all through the summer with less rain and higher-than-normal temperatures.

Following a particularly dry winter with less rainfall levels than normal in Cyprus, the Serbian Meteorological Service that monitors the entire region has issued a forecast for the island where the first warnings of a drought are starting to appear.

Total rainfall for the months of March, April, and May is expected to be less than normal by 50% in the south and southeast of the island and up to 75% in other areas. Temperatures are not expected to veer off drastically from normal levels but they will show a slight increase, adding to the already hot characteristics of a summer drought.

Expected temperatures of up to 45'C will be observed during the highest peaks in Summer. Residents are advised to be cautious and wear protective clothing.
