CIU organized "Career Days" in an effort to support personal development and career planning.

As has been the case with CIU career days in the past, seminars held at the  Çevik Uraz Conference Hall were attended by professionals who have achieved significant success within their domains.

Present on the first day of the two day event were speakers from Mobile phone companies Vodafone Turkey and Telsim, speaking on topics such as the work system and the corporate structure of their organizations, as well as prerequisites for recruitment by their organizations.

Describing Telsim as a young and dynamic company that values women, İnci Moreket, a Senior Expert of Recruitment and Training with the Telsim Department of Human Resources, pointed out that 55% of their employees were women, with men making up 45% of staff. She added that senior ranks also boasted women, a fact which made them proud.

Speaking of intra-company training, Moreket said, “education does not stop when one graduates from university. We need to catch up with the technology of our age, and to that effect our company provides ‘on the job training’. With this program we learn by practicing how fellow colleagues working in larger markets perform the same job”.  Pointing to the significance of education for their organization, Moreket explained that they had personal development programs and that they offered the opportunity of higher education to aspiring individuals.

Neslihan Oray Sönmez, the Director of Recruitment under the Department of Human Resources with Vodafone Turkey, spoke of the process of recruitment, and on how to put together a CV.

Pointing out that a substantial part of the job advertisements for their organization was announced on career dedicated cites, such as Kariyer.net, and Linkedin, Neslihan Oray Sönmez explained that the CV was a significant factor in recruitment, adding “You are first evaluated on your CV, hence you cannot have any conflicting information on your CV”.

Underlining that a CV was not sufficient on its own to conclude a recruitment decision, Neslihan Oray Sönmez added, “It is the performance and energy which you display during the job interview that will earn you a position with the organization interviewing you”.

Two students won a mobile phone in a raffle held at the conclusion of the seminars attended by speakers from Vodafone Group and Telsim.
