Uganda celebrates Independence Day at CIU | October 2014


The event which took place at the Student Development and Counseling Center CIU started with lots of colourful activities by Ugandans in CIU, including their friends and well wishers. Earlier the Ugandan National Anthem was rendered.

Secretary General of CIU, Assoc Dr, Ahmet Adalie, in his speech at the occasion reiterated the zeal of Cyprus International University to be a second home, away from home for all International Students studying at the University "We try our best to welcome all students and make them feel at home by providing the most relevant tools for an effective education system"

Lots of other countries joined Uganda in celebrating their day, including Nigeria, South Africa, Azerbaijan, Kazakhastan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, etc. Invited guests were treated to local Ugandan dances and dishes as well games and traditional dances.

The event culminated with the cutting of the Independence cake and dances into the night.
