2014 Christmas in North Cyprus! [PHOTOS]
When I came to study in North Cyprus earlier this year 2014, being a Muslim country I did not expect Christmas to happen but I was very wrong.
Needless to say i was amazed to see colourful lights on the trees and along the main roads, shops with festive decorations and generally a Christmas atmosphere on a local weekend trip. Of course the celebration for the Muslim community is the New Year so this probably accounts for the decorations as well.
Bringing in the New Year is another wonderful occasion where people of all nationalities join the local Turkish Cypriot community, all enjoying the festivities and at midnight there is always a fantastic firework display.
NOTE: 2015 New Year's Eve Event will be held at The QUEEN Club, Salamis Road, Famagusta, North Cyprus with a special performance by The Ca$hy Dancers [Afrocentric Dancers from Africa]. Fore more info, click here
