EMU Communication Faculty is organizing a 'SELFIE' Competition for High School Students

Eastern Mediterranean University Communication Faculty is organizing a selfie competition entitled “SELFEMU” for high school students. Taking place between 25 and 27 February 2015 within the framework of 5th EMU Promotion Days, the competition will be offering a smart phone to the winner under the sponsorship of North Cyprus Turkcell.

EMU Communication Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan provided information about the competition and stated that selfie photos have become widespread and an important means of expressing oneself among youngsters. Prof. Dr. İrvan added that through the competition, they expect high school students to express themselves and, at the same time, reflect EMU campus in a different way.

Prof. Dr. Süleyman İrvan added that high school students may take part in the competition with their EMU-themed selfie photos to be submitted via facebook. Taken by mobile phones, the selfie photos should contain the image of the student as well as a recognisable area/venue from EMU. Adding that each student may take part in the competition with a single photo, İrvan put forth that 10 photos to be shortlisted by the evaluation committee will be posted via facebook between 3 and 8 March 2015. The owner of the selfie receiving the maximum number of likes will win a smart phone.
