EMU Community Involvement Center Continues to Provide Support in Turkish Communities.


Ongoing aid campaigns carried out in various provinces of Turkey under the coordinatorship of Eastern Mediterranean University Community Involvement Center Executive Board Member Dr. Nazenin Ruso this time took place in Van and Adana.  

Items donated within the framework of the aid campaign entitled “Little Hands Holding Pencils” organised for Yavrucak Elementary School of Yavrucak, one of the earthquake stricken villages of Van, were distributed to children.  Within the framework of the project which showed the children whose families have been affected by Van earthquake that they have not been forgotten, various stationery items like painting books, crayons, books and pencils  were taken to the students of the aforesaid elementary school by EMU Psychology Department student Abdülhamit Bulundu and a group of his friends. Welcomed by the village governor, EMU students distributed the collected items to students.

Another aid campaign launched by the Community Involvement Center took place under the initiative of EMU Tourism and Hospitality School student Cansın Gazioğlu. Various presents donated within the framework of the campaign were delivered to the children of the Syrian refugees in Turkey who have been trying to survive under difficult winter conditions. Dr. Ruso stated that similar aid campaigns will be launched both within our country and Turkey in the near future.
