Near East University [NEU] Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy opens first Info Centre

Founded through the cooperation of the Near East University Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Pharmacy under the coordinator-ship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bilğen Başkurt, the Clinical Pharmacy Drug Information Center, which is the first center regarding this field in TRNC and Turkey, was inaugurated with a grand ceremony held at the Near East University Hospital.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. İhsan Çalış drew attention to the crucial role of patient-physician-pharmacist collaboration in ensuring rational drug use.

The centre will be offering a service from 09:00 till 17:00 five days a week.

A statement from the hospital said that the Clinical Pharmacy Drug Information Center will exert effort to provide patients with information regarding their drug therapies and appropriate use of the drug since the lack of information concerning the rational use of medicines is one of the most important problems.
