First snowfall in Cyprus, light sprinkle on Troodos

The first light snowfall of this year was reported on the Troodos mountaintops. Police say conditions on the roads in mountain areas are dangerous and have advised all drivers to take extreme care.

A drop in temperatures across Cyprus has also seen hail, storms and chilly conditions in coastal areas. The low temperature is expected to continue this week with more chances of icy rains or hailstones.

The brief flutter which started at 11.50 and lasted till 12:30, was hailed by many driver honking horns on the roads.
