NEU Faculty of Communication hosts: “Work Right” Exhibition organized by Paris-based 4 Tomorrow



Near East University Faculty of Communication with its new departments that opened in 2015 and with its international student profile is strengthening its communication with the world.

According to the Press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of NEU (Near East University Nicosia, Cyprus), NEU Faculty of Communication as a prominent faculty has taken concrete steps towards establishing steady relations with international institutions and organizations concerned with communication sciences and applications. Within this concept, Faculty of Communication has become a full member of three international associations, members of which are the most demanding and leading organizations and universities of Europe. Two more accreditation procedures for two prestigious association are about to be finalized. Being aware of national values as well as the importance of intercultural communication, Faculty of Communication is committed to sharing various communication products with the students and the society by organizing or hosting notable activities.

Faculty of Communication is in collaboration with “poster for tomorrow” which is the main project of 4 Tomorrow, an independent and prestigious organization based in Paris. In order to provide an accessible platform to express thoughts and create discussion across the whole spectrum of society, NEU Faculty of Communication will host the poster exhibition which is composed of 100 best posters from 133 countries.


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gökçe Kececi Şekeroğlu, Acting Dean of Faculty of Communication, who took part in the jury of Poster for Tomorrow 2014 Competition: “Work Right”, voiced the pride of NEU of participating in such an outstanding organization which holds the social responsibility forefront and offers unique opportunities to share original ideas. “4 Tomorrow has received over 15,000 posters from 133 countries and hosted more than 400 exhibitions in 5 continents so far. This reveals the communication power of art and design. This year, NEU Faculty of Communication hosts Poster for Tomorrow Exhibition: “Work Right” which is composed of 100 best posters. In this sense, we feel extremely happy to provide our students and relevant public sectors with the opportunity to visit and see this magnificent collection that comprised 100 best posters” said she.

4 Tomorrow, which is an independent, non-profit organization based in Paris and has design collaboration with Council of Europe, aims to create awareness on issues that affect us all and encourage people to make posters aiming to draw attention on freedom of expression and improvement of human rights. Poster for Tomorrow created by 4Tomorrow provides platform for the designers to raise awareness and stimulate debate on issues through their artworks. 4Tomorrow has been organizing competitions annually only on social themes since 2009.

Choosing the content of the competitions from social issues affecting people worldwide, 4Tomorrow has chosen “Work Right” as the theme of Poster for Tomorrow competition this year. “Work Right” defines the equal right for work and
employment. Everyone has right to work and to be employed without discrimination or exploitation of gender, age, nationality or physical condition.

“Work Right” exhibition, which is comprised of 100 best posters out of 4301 proposals from 133 countries, is exhibited respectively in various countries worldwide.

Near East University Faculty of Communication is the current venue of the posters which were exhibited in Istanbul Işık University last month. Arranged by the Department of Visual Communication and Design, the exhibition will be displayed in the foyer of Faculty of Communication for one month starting from Wednesday April 8, 2015. All students and those interested are invited.
