EXPLAINED: Burst water mains leaves Famagusta TRNC struggling with water.

The Famagusta Municipality has announced that they have been unable to supply water to the Famagusta region due to a burst water main on the Guzelyurt-Famagusta pipeline.

In a statement from the local council, the line which comes under the control of the TRNC Water Works Department will be looked at tomorrow; the damage is believed to be on the Serhatkoy point and in the case that repairs are not finished, the council called on the public to use the water sparingly.

The Famagusta Municipality said that according to the situation water will be supplied on a rotation and they will force conditions to distribute water to the areas from the Seawater Irrigation Facility.
