NEU Faculty of Veterinary opened on 2nd November, 2009 awards its first graduates.

Faculty of Veterinary was opened on 2nd November, 2009 in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, making it the 15th Faculty of Near East University. This year, it gave its first graduates on Monday, 6th July, 2015 at a ceremony held at NEU Grand Library Hall 4 at 14:00.

According to the press info release from the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, being the only of its kind among private universities in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and in Turkey, Faculty of Veterinary of Near East University began its academic life with 11 students. Currently, it has 153 students and most significantly, the NEU Faculty of Veterinary embodies the first and only fully equipped Animal Hospital of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Having the Animal Hospital, NEU Faculty of Veterinary is able to give practical education and training to its students, besides theoretical knowledge. Additionally, NEU Faculty of Veterinary also makes significant contributions to stock breeding of the country, and thus, human health.

Since the day it has been opened, many diagnoses have been put and relevant treatments have been facilitated at the NEU Animal Hospital. Besides animal health, NEU Animal Hospital has taken on responsibility to deal with diseases that are transmitted from animals to humans; relative diagnoses, follow-ups and treatments. Furthermore, NEU Faculty of Veterinary also makes contributions via social responsibility projects, such as “pet-fest 2”, which has received positive feedback specially from children and from others.
