Beauty event organized for CIU Lecturers to celebrate Teachers Day in TRNC

As part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations the Cyprus International University (CIU) Department of Hair Care and Beauty Services undertook a ‘skin care’ activities for lecturers working at CIU.

Skin Care and Applications course lecturer Fatma Öksüz, and her students analyzed the skin of ten CIU lecturers before undertaking person-specific skin treatments such as cleansing, anti-acne care, oxygen therapy, peeling and masks.

Speaking to the CIU News Agency, Öksüz expressed her joy at having taken the initiative for such an activity on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, adding “Our skin is not only an aesthetic screen but also the mirror in which we can observe the reflection of our health status in general.”

Explaining that skin is influenced negatively by free radicals, stress, and changes in weather, Öksüz pointed out that their aim at organizing the activity was to give something to CIU lecturers on such a special day.

Lecturer Vali Gjinali, Head of the Department of Hair Care and Beauty Services, pointed out that the event was the first one dedicated to skin care, saying, “We shall continue promoting different applications of skin care activities using exclusively professional equipments and products. We follow recent products and developments in the sector in an effort to better equip our students for their profession whereby they will integrate the know-how into their practice.”

The CIU lecturers who benefited from the skin-care workshop expressed their opinions:

Assistant Prof. Dr. Mehtap Köse Ulukök: I am very happy for having been given the opportunity to take part in this activity organized by the Department of Hair Care and Beauty Services. I congratulate these students and their lecturers.”

Instructor Sevilay Arslan: Today we took part in a very pleasant activity. On the occasion of 24 November we received skin care and mask treatment. This was quite a success, I was very pleased. I thank you all.

Aysel Güneş, sophomore student with the Department of Hair Care and BeautyServices: We offered skin care treatment to our Dear Lecturers who enjoyed this very much. We hope for continuation of this activity, and to this end we look forward to greater demand from our lecturers.
