Adagha Ovie Solomon emerges Champion in the Chess Tournament organized by EMU #Throwback
Organised by the Chess Club operating under Eastern Mediterranean University Social and Cultural Activities Directorate, a chess tournament took place with the participation of 50 chess players in women’s and men’s category. Having attracted the interest of a crowded group of participants and viewers, the tournament also hosted Ali Doğan Nay, under-09 champion of the TRNC, who came to watch the games.
At the end of the tournament, Adagha Ovie Solomon came first, Nizar Driovich came second and Yusuf Evcim Ünal came third in men’s category whilst Rabiatul Adawiyah qualified for the first place, Nadin Barghouthi for the second place and Hend Shaheen for the third place in women’s category.
Students who qualified for the first three places won a 3-day holiday in Turkey, 2-night hotel accommodation in Cyprus or free meal for two in Eziç or Califorian Restaurant.
