Women’s Shelter to be established in TRNC, for women exposed to Domestic Violence

The Council of Ministers had decided to establish a Women’s Shelter, which will provide a place of temporary refuge and support for women exposed to domestic violence, Prime Minister Ömer Kalyoncu has announced.

Kalyoncu pointed out that nowadays women should not be threatened by domestic violence, but unfortunately a women’s shelter is needed in order to create a safe place for women who live in fear of violence.
