The Minimum Wage Commission of TRNC sets New minimum wage, starts 1st July

The Minimum Wage Commission which convened yesterday set the new gross minimum wage at 1,834 Turkish Liras.
The new wage will come into effect as of the 1st of July.

According to the commission, the minimum hourly wage rate has been set at 10,58TL, the daily minimum wage at 84,65TL and the weekly minimum wage at 423,23TL.

Attending the opening of yesterday’s meeting, the Minister of Labour and Social Security Hamza Ersan Saner said that the government was sensitive on the issue of setting a new minimum wage.

He said that the government had put special emphasis of regularly raising the wage rate since it came to office in April this year.
