Global Game Jam in EMU by Computer Engineering Department


Organised by Eastern Mediterranean University Engineering Faculty Computer Engineering Department, a game design event entitled “Global Game Jam” took place on 23 January 2015. Particpants applying for the activity from various places of the TRNC took part in the activity through an office allocated for this purpose at EMU Computer Engineering Department.  Participants developed games within a period of 48 hours under the theme “What are We Going to Do Now?”  

A total of 78 countries, 518 centers and over 28,000 participants took part in this year’s “Global Game Jam”, which is an international event organised annually. During the activity, participants designed, created and tested over 5000 new games in the time span of 48 hours. A total of 4 games were developed in EMU within the framework of the event.

69 countries, 488 centers and 23,000 participants took part in last year’s “Global Game Jam”. The event which is closely linked with different fields such as graphics, sound effects, story, programming, chapter design and test is a great opportunity for the participants to design unique products.
