The Department of Labour Inspection issues warning to workers as heat rises across Cyprus

The Department of Labour Inspection [DLI] has warned employers that high temperatures and humidity levels can endanger workers or seriously affect their health.

The warning comes after a slight hike in temperatures across the country, with Nicosia expected to hit 41'C.

According to the DLI, employers and self-employed people are obliged to take all necessary measures to protect workers and themselves.

The heat could have health impacts, causing dehydration and exhaustion, particularly in people over age 65, infants and young children, people with medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity, asthma or respiratory conditions.
